Dead City Ruins came together at the end of summer , 2007. Formed in London by three English mates (Charles , Olek and James and two Australians , Jake and Mick) The band started out as a fusion of blues and hard rock with the only goal being to write songs about the struggle of life in one of the biggest and hardest citys in the world. In the first 12 months Dead City Ruins secured a monthly saturday night residency at the shepherds bush Belushies and performed in some of the citys best known rock n roll bars and clubs (At times playing up to 5 shows a week) including Bar Monsta , The Purple Turtle , The Good Ship and The Unicorn to name just a few. After 12 months of building a solid live set and dangerous stage show the band , on a zero budget , recorded a 4 track self titled E.P and began looking to take thier show on the road. With offers coming in thick and fast to play shows in Sweden , Germany and a festival offer in Dubai. After almost 2 years of gigging and debauchery in London, Mick and Jake pooled thier cash and headed back to Melbourne Australia. After taking a year off to settle in Melbourne, Jake went on to try out for a few bands finally running into Tommy , a guitarist that possesd the drive and killer licks to get something going. together Tommy brought in drummer Drewsy and Mick was quick to throw his bass in the ring. With 2010 bringing to life a new lineup , D.C.R have already played shows throughout melbourne in venues such as The T.O.T.E and The Arthouse , to name a few and will be releasing a new E.P with a much harder edge in october.
