Two Aussies and a kiwi walk into a bar...
Kent (bleeps+keys) From becoming a scholar in the deep and sinister realm of trip hop, getting lost in the bright screens of computers forever learning the ways of production from the teachers, Kent left the shores of New Zealand to seek something more. Something bigger. Something louder. Something with a heavy beat and a drilling bassline wield to thump you into movement. Guitar in one hand, and an ableton ready laptop in the other, Melbourne quickly became his base. And there he found them… waiting.
Phoebe (vocals+viola) Thankfully, the David Jaanz School of Singing didn’t exist when Phoebe was growing up. Or Australian Idol. She learnt to sing the hard way – scales. Lots of scales. And songs from musicals. Coupled with many years slog as a classical viola player, Phoebe was a music nerd from day one. Leaving VCA she cut her teeth in an indie rock band, but then chose the fork in the music road marked “Doof” and never looked back. Viola sounds way cooler through an effects unit. And she still hates musicals.
Tom (bleeps+guitar) Forged through a collision of liquid hot magma, stardust and dark matter particles. Tom's being toodling and retoodling his dance tunes since he was knee high to a set of turntables. He doesn’t do much else. Aside from his guitar playing and production, he hibernates in a cave, 18 hours a day, upside down in a state of perpetual readiness for the next bit of creative inspiration to overwhelm him. Oh and he's a Pisces.
