The emotional honesty within Sarah’s songwriting lays the foundation for provocative, soul wrenching performances. Sarah Martin (lead singer/lead guitarist) gives a moving performance, a belting voice with the likes of Jeff Buckley but the richness of Aretha Franklin .
For three years Cloud City have been developing a distinctive sound and a solid live reputation. This strongly bonded quartet combines each individual’s creative talent to weave a tapestry of soul driven riffs, vocal harmonies using unusual time signatures producing a dark and light rock edge. The power to capture with emotions is how Cloud City communicates with the audience.
In May 2006 Cloud City launched their “Self Titled” EP, drawing 550 people to The Esplanade Gershwin Room. Cloud City have played regionally, received airplay on PBS and RRR, including live to air performances
