BIOGRAPHY

In a home where her parents had a love of music tastes from Classical to Celtic, Liv has learned the art of being diverse in her own compositions and looks to her own style as being non conforming to any one genre. At a time when most new performers are imitating overseas styles. Liv is setting a new standard for songs distinctly Australian from the heart, bringing back solid lyrics and Unique music styles that grab listeners of all ages.

Not happy to fit the norm, Liv’s Philosophy is simple, good lyrics, great music compositions and a no nonsense out of the spirit connection with her audience.

Liv’s debut Album, “Words After Midnight” has been heralded for its creativity and diversity and sets a high standard amongst today’s Australian singer songwriters .

"Her voice is melodious and her songs are unique in many ways and she has the capacity to hold an audience with the emotive feeling of her presentation. Her forte, as far as I am concerned is her ability to write lyrics, often poetic in their content, that are evocative and meaningful. As a counterpoint to the words she also has a natural ability to compose music that augments and amplifies the words. She is altogether a very talented young lady."

- Tom Hampshire Published International Author, Writer and poet

“I don't think I can count how many times in two days that I've listened to the CD. I've heard many an album in my life, and there are usually a few dogs on the track list. Well, don't be grabbing any bones for this one 'cause there aren't any dogs here! From first note to last, this album is a winner. Vocal and instrumental parts are simply amazing. The arrangements of each piece are perfect, and it is clear that Liv's perfectionist tendencies were held firm. Each artist has very important roles here on the varying pieces. One thing you will notice as you listen is a wide range of styles and expressions. This is not vanilla folks, this is a rainbow sherbet of flavors.”

"Liv is a natural live performer, and has an honest heart in her music. Her music has a colourful blend of different genres and sensibilities with a clear positive message which is hard to find these days. Definitely an artist to look out for.”

Matt Purcell, singer /songwriter and judge at the Tahlee Battle of the Bands.

"Liv Gritten is a passionate and polished singer/songwriter backed by a solid band. Her songs are uplifting and her voice is compelling. The band arrangements are creative and diverse, the melodies interesting and evocative.

Phil Tweed - Style Music" and Tahlee Battle of the Bands Judge

“With song writing ability of Sarah McLachlan and a voice that is hauntingly like Natalie Merchant. Olivia's first CD Words After Midnight is breathtaking”

From the first song, you fall for the magic and musical vision that is Liv Gritten. “Crossroads” is a fast paced song with a piano you feel wrapping around you, so bewitching, you can’t help but be spellbound. Liv’s voice is so light; it reminds you in some phrasing of Kate Bush’s. Taking the high notes to another level in the second, lively track, “Postmodern Waltz”, which I feel did not really need a demonstration of Liv’s vocal abilities.
