‘Jovian’displayed their promise in their first year of existence by flying in as the main support for 'The Presets' in front of more than 15,000 people in Darwin, Australia on the 21st of June, 2009. It was the culmination of the first 12 months of effort for the band, an indication of their intent, an intently reckless spark cast into the woods.
Conceived in the central west of NSW, the currently Sydney-based band has over its first year headlined and supported local music festivals in NSW, played support props for the likes of 'Nucleus', 'Something with Numbers' and 'The Aston Shuffle' as well as representing CSU at the NSW Uni Band comp finals.
Their progressive rock is an embracement of purposeful expression, relayed through mediums that physically and visually manipulate and appease. Deep and resonate, the music is the consideration of all manner of frequency range and effect. It vibrantly sweeps across the influences from which it came, conscious of the persuasive release that thumping percussion and distorted guitars have when emergent and combined with soaring vocal styles and radiantly clear compositions.
The demanded birth of their first release is set to brandish a 2009 dated stamp. The refinement of their “fantastic” live shows throughout NSW can be experienced periodically, with only those wary of the future encouraged to avoid.
