BAND CALENDAR
BIOGRAPHY
It was little more than 12 months ago that singer/guitarist Lisa Maxwell (former solo artist), bassist Adam Learner (Blue Ruin) and drummer Alan Murphy (Black Pony Express) first stepped into the rehearsal studio after repeatedly crossing paths while playing in their respective projects at the time. No time was wasted, the three drawing on their collective musical history, developing a fierce live show and writing an abundance of material that would include the five tasty little morsels that can be heard on their debut self-titled EP: a collection of unashamedly melodic grunge-pop tunes, packed with relentless energy.

The band enlisted engineer extraordinaire Davin Pidoto (Little Birdy, The Pictures, You Am I) to capture the raw sound that has charmed audiences at key band venues all over Melbourne. Much sushi was consumed, and the EP was recorded and mixed over three days at Melbourne’s Sing Sing South and Sing Sing Studios. The result is a snapshot of a new band, unafraid of simplicity, disinterested in fashion and musical trends, with the intensity of the rhythm section telling the story and commanding as much attention as the lead vocal.

The EP’s confronting third track, Trouble, has already been picked up for release in the USA - the song is featured on the latest volume of Hollywood label 272 Records’ Riot On Sunset compilation series, and is being promoted to college radio as one of the compilation’s key tracks.

With regional and national tours in support of their debut EP in the works and the better part of a follow-up already written, the coming months promise to be busy for Dear Stalker. And this is just the beginning.
