The Pang

GIG DETAIL:
On a quest to find the ‘lost sounds of eighties summers’, Declan & The Antics take us on a hook-laden voyage of reminiscence to an era when ‘pop’ was arguably at its peak. The UK’s pop bible ‘Pop Justice’ recently chose ‘Born For The Nightlife’ as ‘Song Of The Day’ and called the album ‘A big brilliant party record’. Since this is our launch party, and it’s summer, who better to be our first headline?

The Pang’s luscious post-punk-rock-pop possesses a hypnotic quality that renders the listener spellbound before consuming them with a subtle, almost subliminal, sense of menace. The video for the band’s infectious single ‘Stuck With This Heart’ was recently broadcast on Rage and is the first featured clip on the new videos section of FasterLouder. They are also the inaugural ‘featured band’ on Eatnoise.

The High Fangs bring to our pop smörgåsbord a serving of good time garage powerpop. Produced by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Ooga Boogas), their debut release ‘Tear Their Hearts Out’ was described by Patrick Emery of Mess & Noise as ‘abrasive garage rock, saturated with enough treacle-thick fuzz to drown a community of flaccid bubblegum pop lovers’. The perfect hors d’oeuvre!
