BAND CALENDAR
BIOGRAPHY
It was a love of Radiohead, New Order and a friend’s homemade Pulp Fiction spoofs that brought the band together, so pop wasn't the sound Wilfred Jackal had expected to make when they first picked up their instruments.

Friends from childhood, the boys came together in high school cutting their teeth on material from Queen to Alice Cooper to Babyshambles and even the Beastie Boys…It was not until a lineup change in 2008 with the inclusion of long time friends Jamie and Andy that led to a sharper focus in the band on creating a catchy but original sound.

In the time since, their sound and presence has grown and matured into what they now like to describe as ‘Dino-Pop’ - Sing-a-long melodies over a stomping beat to get your groove on. Wilfred are committed to their crafting, and to putting on some super-boogie live shows. Hope to see you soon….

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wilfred Jackal were 'Unsigned Artist of the Week' for Sydney Radio Station FBi 94.5 for the week starting tuesday 9th June. So if you're around tune in to hear 'What Is' doing the rounds

"What Is (And Will Never Be) is one of the sweetest power pop tunes of the year so far...but even their weaker songs are considerably further ahead of the pop eight-ball than the fun socks brigade"
- Inpress Magazine, April 2009

"Within the first few songs it becomes increasingly clear that these boys are on their way to bigger things... Wilfred Jackal gel seamlessly, each one of these boys knows their respective instruments like the back of their hands, but where they differ from other bands alike is in the delivery. They manage to serve up a set of songs with depth, the layers are cohesive, but listener is not overcome by an impenetrable wall of sound. Instead we are offered a set that see’s you completely lost in the moment unsure of what day it is, and even how you got here."
Rave Review, October 2009
